Highland Perthshire and The Cairngorms National Park

Close to Pitlochry and just off the main Perth – Inverness road (A9) and London-Inverness railway, Blair Atholl is the perfect easy-to-reach destination for your Highland holiday. We are also an ideal central base with easy access to all the major centres.
We recommend:

Blair Castle
(1 mile), the traditional home of the Dukes of Atholl and the Atholl Highlanders, Europe’s only remaining official private army. Blair Castle is open to the public for much of the year with some 30 fully-furnished rooms on display along with wonderful gardens and planned historic landscapes.

Whisky Distilleries
Edradour Distillery and Blair Athol distilleries are both within a 15 minute drive, whilst Aberfeldy and Dalwhinnie distilleries are within 30 minutes – all are open to the public.

House of Bruar
(3 miles) An amazing and unique Highland Retail experience – extensive and welcoming and also perfect for a coffee or lunch.

The great outdoors
There are endless miles of woodland, riverside and hill paths and trails leading from Blair Atholl into the Cairngorms National Park and the Grampian Mountains. For more serious hikers, Glen Tilt and the Munros beckon – we’ll be delighted to assist with routes and advice for your own special expedition – bike storage and drying facilities are all here.
